What We Offer

Adoption Process for Our South Carolina Adopters

Through years of experience we have developed a tried and true adoption process devoted to matching the correct puppy with their adopter family. We are strong advocates of thoroughly understanding the adopter family dynamic and preferences and guiding each family in the selection process. Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.

Steps of Our Adoption Process

1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – Standard adoption questionnaires have been the primary approach for conscientious dog breeders to screen prospective adopters, yet we’ve learned about their drawbacks over the years. Most people seeking adoption, whether actually compatible or not, can comfortably supply the “expected” answers on paper. Meaningful evaluation necessitates a more personal touch that goes further than what any standardized questionnaire can capture. This is precisely why, as English Bulldog breeders, we prioritize personal phone discussions with our potential families. In our conversation, we’ll discuss elements including your daily activities, family atmosphere, past animal experience, and your vision for a furry friend to evaluate if one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would flourish in your environment.

2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.

3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll explain each potential addition’s distinctive personality features, preferences, and special qualities, helping you assess how they align with your lifestyle. Though your family maintains complete decision-making power, we pledge to provide knowledgeable guidance and recommendations throughout this important selection journey.

*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – To guarantee perfect matches between our bulldogs and their adopting families, we must comprehensively analyze each puppy’s individual behavioral tendencies and personality development. This involves detailed temperament assessment, careful observation of natural behaviors, and thorough evaluation of social characteristics. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.

4. Puppy Prep – Once we have successfully matched an adopter with one of our English Bulldog puppies, we proceed with our comprehensive puppy readiness and support phase. All adopters receive detailed training materials and preparation guidance designed to promote the smoothest possible transition for their Palmetto State bulldog. For our South Carolina adopters, we offer flexible arrangement options including our puppy delivery service, where a member of our family will bring your new pup directly to your home. Alternatively, many adopters prefer to visit our home for pickup, providing opportunities for thorough discussions about Southern climate management and coastal humidity considerations. We understand South Carolina’s warm weather patterns and how they significantly impact bulldog comfort from the mountains to the sea. Through personal consultations or comprehensive phone support, we maintain our dedication to helping every South Carolina family succeed with their new Lowcountry companion.
