For anyone looking for a healthy, athletic, family bulldog, look no further. Bruiser Bulldogs are truly making this breed healthier and not breeding for the overly wrinkly unhealthy look. We have been so impressed with our Stella’s disposition and health and athleticism. Our vet has continued to be impressed with how healthy she is. No breathing issues whatsoever. We love our Bruiser Bulldog Josh Allen. He is two and a half years old and loves being active and social. I always get compliments on how healthy and athletic he is. People are shocked when he races around the dog park or runs into Lake Michigan from the beach.

I knew I wanted an English bulldog but had no experience or knowledge raising one. I am so thankful that in my google search of breeders, I came across Bruiser Bulldogs. In my research of getting to know the breed, I did find how they have so many ailments and a lot of breeders breed for the looks. When I read Bruiser Bulldogs mission of breeding for health, I KNEW they were the right people! We have had our Rosie Posie for a year and a half now and she is just the best. Erica still answers my questions (such as best joint supplements, and so on) and is so kind and gracious. When we first took Rosie to our vet, they said she was the best looking English bulldog they have seen. Through years of experience we have developed a tried and true adoption process devoted to matching the correct puppy with their adopter family. We are strong advocates of thoroughly understanding the adopter family dynamic and preferences and guiding each family in the selection process. Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.
Steps of Our Adoption Process
1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – While standard adoption questionnaires have been the typical approach for dog breeders to review potential adopters, we’ve discovered their limitations over the years. Most interested adopters can easily supply the “correct” answers on paper. Genuine assessment demands a more personal touch that extends beyond what any standardized questionnaire can capture. This is precisely why, as responsible English Bulldog breeders, we focus on direct over the phone conversations with our prospective families. In our conversation, we’ll talk about topics like your daily activities, family environment, past pet history, and your expectations for a companion to evaluate whether one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would thrive in your setting.
2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.
3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll explain each potential pup’s personality features, preferences, and distinctive qualities, ensuring you understand how they align with your lifestyle. Although your family maintains complete control over the decision, we will provide knowledgeable guidance and insights throughout this important selection journey.
*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Each English Bulldog puppy possesses a unique personality that must be carefully evaluated to ensure proper family placement. We dedicate time to analyzing each puppy’s behavioral tendencies, energy expressions, and social characteristics through multiple observations. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.
4. Puppy Prep – When an adopter has been matched to one of our English Bulldog puppies, we initiate our puppy prep and training. Each new owner receives comprehensive support training and detailed care information tailored to help their bulldog adapt to their forever home. For our Florida adopters, we offer flexible arrangement options including our puppy delivery service, where a member of our family will bring your new pup directly to your home. Other adopters prefer to visit our home for pickup. We understand that schedules can be hectic, so we are flexible and support either choice. Whether through personal visits or detailed telephone consultations, we support your journey into bulldog ownership.
