What We Offer

Adoption Process for Our Washington Adopters

Through years of experience we have developed a tried and true adoption process devoted to matching the correct puppy with their adopter family. We are strong advocates of thoroughly understanding the adopter family dynamic and preferences and guiding each family in the selection process.  Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.

Steps of Our Adoption Process

1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – Questionnaires for adoption have long been the primary method for dog breeders when reviewing potential adopters, yet we’ve recognized their drawbacks over time. Most people seeking adoption, regardless of their genuine appropriateness, can effortlessly craft the “correct” responses on paper. Authentic evaluation demands a more personal approach that exceeds what any rigid questionnaire can accomplish. This is why, as responsible English Bulldog breeders, we value authentic telephone interactions with our prospective families. During our conversation, we will go over areas such as your everyday routine, home dynamics, previous pet history, and your expectations for a pet to assess whether one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would excel under your supervision.

2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.

3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll describe each candidate’s personality traits, habits, and individual features, ensuring you grasp how they integrate into your household environment. While the choice remains entirely in your hands, we’re committed to delivering professional support and wisdom to ensure your confidence in the selection.

*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Optimal family-puppy compatibility depends on comprehensive evaluation of each bulldog’s distinct temperament profile and personality characteristics. Through behavioral assessment and detailed observations, we observe each puppy’s unique traits and family suitability markers. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.

4. Puppy Prep – Once we have matched an adopter to one of our English Bulldog puppies, we transition to puppy prep and training. Each adopter receives personalized support training and puppy prep information focused on how to best transition and care for your new bulldog puppy. For our Washington adopters, many choose to use our puppy nanny service where a member of our family will fly with your pup to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Spokane International Airport, or your nearest airport. Other adopters prefer to fly to our home to pick up their new buddy. We’re flexible and accommodate either preference. While we genuinely value meeting our bulldog adopters face-to-face, we also understand that busy lifestyles sometimes make phone planning more convenient, and we’re happy to arrange the perfect solution through a conversation.

Washington Specific Advice From A Lifelong Bulldog Breeder

Top Vet: Urban Animal (Capitol Hill, Seattle)

Great for routine care and non-critical issues. Affordable walk-in model with generally very positive experiences, though wait times may vary

Top Bulldog Trainer: Evergreen School for Dogs (Western WA)

Evergreen School for Dogs offers private in-home lessons and board-and-train programs for companion dogs—suitable for bulldogs seeking structured, consistent training.

Things Our Bulldog Adopters Have Loved Doing:

1. Nature Walks & Scenic Escapes

– Discovery Park (Seattle)- Try the Loop Trail (2.8 mi) for a moderate, mostly flat walk with varied terrain. Seattle’s largest green space with 7+ miles of shaded trails, beach access, and beautiful bluff views.

– Green Lake Park (Seattle)- Shady spots, benches, and water fountains make it bulldog-friendly. One of the best flat, paved loops in the city (~2.8 miles).

2. Dog Parks & Social Spots

– Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Park (Redmond)- Go during cooler morning hours to keep your bulldog safe from overheating. Known as “Doggy Disneyland,” this 40-acre park has wide, flat fields, water access, and plenty of space to relax.

– Magnuson Park Off-Leash Area (Seattle)- One of the best in Puget Sound for short-nosed breeds. Features a shaded trail, dog beach, and clean, fenced zones.
