Through years of experience we have developed a tried and true adoption process devoted to matching the correct puppy with their adopter family. We are strong advocates of thoroughly understanding the adopter family dynamic and preferences and guiding each family in the selection process. Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.
Steps of Our Adoption Process
1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – Traditional adoption questionnaires have been the typical approach for conscientious dog breeders to screen prospective adopters, yet we’ve identified their restrictions through application. Most applicants, regardless of their actual compatibility, can smoothly deliver the “appropriate” answers on a written form. True assessment requires a more customized approach that goes well beyond what any static questionnaire can provide. This is precisely why, as English Bulldog breeders, we focus on personal conversations over the phone with our potential families. Throughout our chat, we’ll go over elements like your daily patterns, household composition, prior animal experience, and what you envision in a companion to decide if one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would flourish in your care.
2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.
3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll thoroughly discuss each potential addition’s unique attributes, behavioral tendencies, and distinctive characteristics, helping you determine their suitability for your family dynamics. Though the ultimate selection belongs solely to your household, we’re devoted to offering expert counsel and insights throughout your decision-making process.
*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Creating harmonious matches between our bulldogs and their forever homes requires thorough personality profiling of each individual puppy. Our evaluation methodology includes detailed behavioral observation, systematic temperament analysis, and comprehensive assessment of social characteristics. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.
4. Puppy Prep – Once we have matched an adopter to one of our English Bulldog puppies, we transition to puppy prep and training. Each adopter receives complete support training and puppy prep information focused on how to best transition and care for their new bulldog puppy. For our Oklahoma adopters, many choose to use our puppy nanny service where a member of our family will fly with your pup to Will Rogers World Airport, Tulsa International Airport, or your nearest airport. Other adopters prefer to fly to our home to pick up their new family addition. We’re happy to support either choice. While we absolutely cherish meeting our bulldog adopters in person, we also recognize that full schedules sometimes necessitate phone consultations, and we’re eager to coordinate the ideal fit through a call.

We let our pups go at 11 weeks. We like to keep our puppies a little longer than most breeders. We feel that Bulldog pups benefit from staying longer with their mom and littermates from a social and nutritional standpoint.
An initial vet check needs to be completed within 3 business days of arrival. This requires some planning on the adopters part before pickup or delivery.

Bruiser Bulldogs is located in Northern Indiana where we have resided our entire lives.
Yes, we offer a Puppy Nanny delivery service where one of our family members personally delivers to your nearest airport. All our puppies fly in-cabin with us. We follow all state and USDA regulated transportation standards to safely deliver your pup to you.
Yes, we absolutely love when adopters pick up in person. We will go over your puppy package and make sure you are completely comfortable when you are at our house.
We are able to fly into almost any city with a major airport. We are able to fly into Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Edmond, and Stillwater. If you are an adopter located near Oklahoma we can accommodate delivery to you.
We require a deposit to join our waitlist or to reserve a specific bulldog pup. Final payment is made at pickup or delivery.
Adopter Support Questions
All of our puppies are vet checked at Auburn Hills Animal Hospital or Lagrange Vet Clinic here in Indiana. We register all of our pups through the AKC purebred registry. We are active “Bred With Heart” AKC awarded breeders, we follow all state and USDA protocol for safely transporting and delivering our puppies.
Upon arrival, we will personally check up with a phone call and go over the care package and puppy manual. If you have any questions – we pride ourselves in supporting our adopters with any bulldog related advice. We want to make sure you are completely comfortable with the care of your puppy.
English Bulldogs are a unique breed. We have extensive experience with bulldog specific medical questions and can often provide top tier bulldog related advice based on our dedication to the breed. Our veterinary advisor team gives us VIP level service and is always able to offer additional advice if requested.

Yes! It is very important to our vision to always stay within AKC registered purebred bloodlines. We will provide AKC records and paperwork that allows you to register your pup once you adopt.
