Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.
Steps of Our Adoption Process
1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview– While traditional adoption questionnaires have been the primary approach for dog breeders when assessing potential adopters, we’ve noticed their limitations over time. Most candidates, regardless of their genuine suitability, can effortlessly craft the “correct” responses on a document. Authentic evaluation demands a more personal approach that transcends what any rigid questionnaire can accomplish. This is the reason why, as responsible English Bulldog breeders, we value genuine conversations over the phone with our potential families. During our chat, we’ll cover areas such as your everyday routine, home atmosphere, previous pet ownership, and your aspirations for a pet to assess whether one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would prosper in your care.
2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.
3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll describe each prospective addition’s personality traits, habits, and individual features, ensuring you grasp how they integrate into your household routine. Because the choice remains entirely in your hands, we’re committed to providing support and wisdom to ensure your confidence in the selection.
*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Each bulldog puppy’s unique personality must be thoroughly understood to create successful family placements that last a lifetime. We dedicate considerable time to behavioral assessment, documenting each puppy’s individual traits, preferences, and temperament characteristics. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.
4. Puppy Prep – When an adopter has been matched to one of our English Bulldog puppies, we initiate our puppy prep and training phase. Each new owner receives comprehensive support training and detailed care information tailored to promote the smoothest possible transition for your bulldog companion. For our Kentucky adopters, we offer flexible arrangement options including our puppy delivery service, where a member of our family will bring your new pup directly to your home.
