What We Offer

Adoption Process for Our Colorado Adopters

Through years of experience we have developed a tried and true adoption process devoted to matching the correct puppy with their adopter family. We are strong advocates of thoroughly understanding the adopter family dynamic and preferences and guiding each family in the selection process.  Successful adoptions are never accidents and ensuring the bulldog puppy and their family are compatible matches is essential.

Steps of Our Adoption Process

1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – Traditional adoption questionnaires have served as the foundation for responsible dog breeders when screening potential adopters, but we’ve learned about their shortcomings through experience. Most applicants, whether they’re truly suitable or not, can readily supply the “correct” responses on paper. Genuine evaluation demands a more personal approach that extends far beyond what any written questionnaire can reveal. This is precisely why, as responsible English Bulldog breeders, we emphasize personal conversations over a phone call with prospective families. Throughout our chat, we’ll discuss elements such as your everyday schedule, family structure, past pet ownership, and your expectations for a furry friend to establish whether one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would flourish in your environment.

2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.

3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed discussions over the phone about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We’ll walk you through the individual traits, preferences, and quirks of each potential puppy candidate, helping you understand how each might fit with your family’s lifestyle. While the ultimate choice remains entirely with the adopting family, we’re committed to offering guidance and insights throughout the decision-making process to ensure you feel confident in your selection.

*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Creating successful lifelong bonds between our bulldogs and their families requires a thorough understanding of each puppy’s individual character. We dedicate our time to studying each puppy’s behavioral patterns, interaction styles, and personality traits through observation and interaction. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.

4. Puppy Prep – Once we have matched an adopter to one of our English Bulldog puppies, we transition to puppy prep and training. Each adopter receives support training and puppy prep information focused on how to best transition and care for their new bulldog puppy. For our Colorado adopters, many choose to use our puppy nanny service, where a member of our family will fly with your pup to Denver International Airport, Colorado Springs Airport, or your nearest airport. Other adopters choose to fly to our home to pick up. We support either option. While we love to see our bulldog adopters in person, we also understand busy schedules and can discuss the best fit through a phone call.

Colorado Specific Advice From A Lifelong Bulldog Breeder

Top Vet: RoxPaw Animal Clinic – Littleton / Parker / Castle Rock area

The entire team is participating in ongoing Fear-Free certification training. They emphasize a calm, welcoming atmosphere with separate waiting spaces and patient-first handling.

Top Bulldog Trainer: American Canine Academy – Denver (Commerce City)

A premier board-and-train immersion program offering obedience, behavior rehab (anxiety, reactivity), and lifetime support. Bulldogs often benefit from structured overnight training, off-leash recall, and tailored behavior patterns.

Things Our Bulldog Adopters Have Loved Doing:

1. Off-Leash Parks with Bulldog-Friendly Vibes:

– Chatfield State Park Dog Off-Leash Area (Littleton)- 70+ acres of fenced play areas with water access (bulldogs can wade). Early morning is best for bulldogs—avoid mid-day heat and high-energy dog crowds.

– Twin Silo Dog Park (Fort Collins)- Flat terrain and a peaceful vibe make it bulldog-approved.

2. Dog-Friendly Patios & Breweries:

– The Watering Bowl (Denver)- Part bar, part dog park. Outdoor area is shaded and full of water bowls. Bulldogs can hang under picnic tables while you enjoy a drink.

– Breckenridge Brewery (Littleton Campus)- Spacious and grassy outdoor area with shade, live music, and bulldog-welcoming energy. Very popular with laid-back dog owners.
