Steps of Our Adoption Process
1. First Email and Then Verbal Interview – although adoption questionnaires have served as the conventional method for responsible dog breeders to screen potential adopters, we’ve identified their weaknesses over the years. Most hopeful adopters, whether genuinely suitable or not, can easily provide the “right” responses on paper. True evaluation requires a more tailored approach that extends beyond what any fixed questionnaire can deliver. This is why, as responsible English Bulldog breeders, we value direct over the phone interactions with our prospective families. During our chat, we’ll cover topics including your daily routine, family dynamics, past pet ownership, and your vision for a companion to assess if one of our Bruiser Bulldogs would thrive in your care.
2. Deposit – We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next English Bulldog puppy available.
3. Choosing your English Bulldog Puppy – When an adopter reaches the top of our wait list, we initiate the puppy selection process. Before making any decisions, we’ll provide photos of all available English Bulldog puppies along with detailed phone discussions about each pup’s unique temperament and characteristics (our personality assessment process is outlined below). We will describe each potential puppy’s personality traits, habits, and distinctive features, ensuring you grasp how they might integrate into your family environment. Because the ultimate selection belongs solely to your household, we’re devoted to providing knowledgeable advice and guidance throughout your decision journey.
*English Bulldog Puppy Personality Assessment – Successful puppy placement relies on matching each bulldog’s unique personality with the right family environment. We thoroughly evaluate each puppy’s interaction style, activity preferences, and temperament characteristics over multiple sessions. This comprehensive evaluation process cannot be rushed and requires puppies to reach 4-5 weeks of age before we can accurately assess their distinct personalities. While some adopters prefer to select their puppy as early as 2 weeks old, we respectfully decline these requests. Early selection without proper temperament evaluation is counterproductive and can lead to mismatched pairings, as adopters would be choosing their English Bulldog companion without understanding their future pet’s true nature and needs.
4. Puppy Prep – Once an adopter has been matched with one of our English Bulldog puppies, we initiate our detailed puppy prep and training. All adopters receive complete support training and guidance focused on ensuring a seamless transition for their new bulldog family member. For our Arkansas adopters, we offer flexible arrangement options including our puppy delivery service, where a member of our family will bring your new pup directly to your home.
