Welcome Frenchie Lovers

After experiencing over a decade of success in breeding well socialized, healthy English Bulldogs, we are now devoting a small portion of our time to creating a high quality line of Frenchies.  Our focus is to bring the same level of devotion to healthy bloodline development, health check criteria, and data driven decision making to create a healthy French Bulldog bloodline.  Our mission is to produce high quality, healthy French Bulldog puppies, well socialized in a family centered environment.  We will begin having a few select litters a year starting in 2022 and will only place our Frenchie pups in established, vetted adopter homes.

The building block of Bruiser Bulldogs has always been about health and specifically the breathability of our dogs.  Our criteria for our Frenchie parents are wide tracheas and nostrils that allow for maximum oxygen flow without the deterrence of an elongated soft palate that often restricts breathing ability.  These issues affect the quality of life of French Bulldogs and their adopters.  We are extremely passionate about producing French bulldog that can run, breath and exercise without the breathing issues that many in the breed suffer from.   One solution to these issues is creating a French Bulldog with a lighter wrinkle set and slightly elongated snout while still maintaining the classically adorable French Bulldog look that we have come to love.

We are also conscientious of other Frenchies specific health criteria such as allergies, eye issues such as distasia and entropion as genetic problems that are to be avoided in a high end breeding program.

Socialization and Personality Profiling

One of the keys to a well-rounded French Bulldog is understanding the importance of developing positive personality traits in at a young age. Proper socialization guarantees that your French Bulldog puppy will adapt quickly to its new family environment, other dogs and pets, and home life. We take pride that all of our Bruiser Bulldog puppies participate in their very own comprehensive socialization program before going home to its new family.

A significant portion of our socialization technique is based in Early Neurological Stimulation.

This type of methodology is a series of techniques to improve the long term ability of French Bulldogs to adjust to change and environmental stimuli that they might encounter in their new lives. The training we follow was researched and created by Dr. Carmen L. Battaglia. Every French Bulldog puppy is introduced to new experiences and environmental stimulation that aid in developing their behavior and personality. Each Frenchie is introduced to children, other canine friens and (approved) strangers. Experiences like baths and walk time help each French Bulldog puppy develop the necessary experience it needs to help it positively respond to “trigger” environments where negative behavior might be a temptation. Many behavior issues that adult French Bulldogs develop are directly related to their experiences as a puppy. By creating positive, developmental experiences, we ensure our French Bulldog puppies for sale develop into confident, well rounded adults.

The attention to detail that we create through our socialization program differentiates us from many breeders.  We are often shocked to learn how other French Bulldog breeders raise their puppies. Responsible French Bulldog breeding is not just about providing food, water and basic medical attention to your puppies. Good breeding practices must include daily socialization work with the puppies to ensure they develop properly and are ready to succeed in their new homes.

Adopter Support

Because we believe raising French Bulldog puppies is as a family affair, we understand the importance of supporting our adopters. We offer 24/7/365 support for all of our French Bulldog adopters’ questions. We know trainers and veterinary clinics are valuable in their own right, but often it is hard to find French Bulldog specific advice and information.  Given our extensive experience, we pride ourselves in being experts in all things French Bulldogs and view ourselves as a critical support system for all of our adopters. This is certainly not to say we can replace professional medical and training services, but knowledgeable, breed specific support that actually cares can often times be priceless.  If you are having issues from health to behavioral, we are always just a phone call away.

Bruiser Bulldog Adoption Process

Matching the correct French Bulldog puppy with its forever home!

Through years of experience, we have developed our adoption process to focus on the compatibility of each French Bulldog puppy for sale with their adopter family. We believe that a successful adoption always starts with placing the correct French Bulldog puppy with the correct family.

Steps of our adoption process:

  1. Verbal Interview –French Bulldog questionnaires are great, but verbal interaction via a phone conversation really cannot be beat. Expect to talk about work schedule, family/pet structure, and expectations to ensure a Bruiser Frenchie is the best fit for you family.

  1. Deposit – We require a $500 deposit to join our wait list for the next French Bulldog puppy available or for a future French Bulldog puppy at a specific time of the year.

  1. Selecting your French Bulldog Puppy – Once an adopter had made their way through the waiting list, we will begin the puppy selection process. Personalities will be discussed* (read more on this below), and the pro’s and con’s of each French Bulldog puppy available will be weighed before a selection. Ultimately, a puppy selection is made by the adopter, but we will do our best to provide support and information to make the best decision.

*French Bulldog Puppy Personality Profiling – In order to ensure we understand (and correctly match) each puppy with their correct family we must understand each personality.  We conduct our personality profiling by spending a large amount of time with each puppy and noting both their energy levels and dominance/submissive levels.  This process requires each puppy to be around 6 to 7 weeks of age before we can confidently profile each puppy’s personality correctly.  Some adopters request (and we deny) to choose their puppy as early as 2 to 3 weeks of age.  This selection approach is short sighted and often ends in disaster as the adopter has no idea what kind of French Bulldog they are purchasing before their selection.

  1. French Bulldog Puppy Prep and pickup information

Once we have matched an adopter with their French Bulldog puppy for sale, we will transition to setting a pickup date and preparing the adopter with a puppy supply list they will need before getting their new French Bulldog puppy!
